HITCHING
Valencia should be a relatively easy place to hitch from especially to places nearby. Head to the roads leaving town.
For long journeys try the web-based ride sharing service at http://www.europe.bugride.com

DRIVING
If you're driving south from Barcelona take the express highway (E-15). From Madrid in the northwest you can also use a national highway, E-901. From Alicante, take the E-15 express highway north. From Andalusia the roads are longer, more difficult, and not connected by express highways. It is possible to drive from Málaga north to Granada and then cut across southeastern Spain on the 342, which links with the 340 into Murcia. From there, take the road to Alicante for an easy drive into Valencia. The Barcelona-Valencia toll is 18€.
