The famed Pilgrim’s walk, the Camino de Santiago, runs through Pamplona on it’s way through northern Spain towards Santiago de Compostela. Pamplona is considered an obligatory s on the route so you are well set up to continue from here on the way to Santiago de Compostela in far western Spain. If you wanter to follow the camino through town start at the Puente de la Magdalena in the north-east and enter the city walls via Portal de Francia or Portal de Zumalacárregui. You should visit the cathedral, Plaza Consistorial and San Saturnino church then skirt the castle parks and cross the Puente de Zizur. From here it’s just 700km to Santiago de Compostela!
If you are interested in walking itineraries around the city see www.pamplona.es for some ideas on their site. Pamplona Net also has ideas for walks.
